Rihanna finally announced a release date for her long-awaited makeup line, Fenty Beauty. For months, Fenty Beauty has kept information regarding their products tightly under wraps.
Now that Fall 2017, the initial release date, is slowly approaching, makeup enthusiasts and Rihanna fans alike are curious as to what the star’s new venture will hold. But what exactly do we know about this elusive makeup brand?
One thing we know for sure is that the wait is almost over. According to the Fenty Beauty official Instagram account (@FentyBeauty), the cosmetics line will be released in stores on September 8th. Fenty Beauty will be sold in Sephora, Harvey Nichols, and on their official website.
Keeping in mind that the release date is only a month away, we can expect that the products have already been finalized. Also, more often than not, celebrities give sneak peaks of their cosmetic brands before their release. So, is it possible that we can see some of the upcoming products, maybe even on Rihanna herself?
The star also announced her upcoming makeup brand again on her personal Instagram page. After repeating the official launch date, the artist released a photo of her walking the red carpet at the Paris premiere of her new movie, “Valerian”. The caption of the photo simply states “Face by @FentyBeauty”.
So what does this mean for us? Well, based on the warm-toned, peachy makeup look, there is a possibility that Fenty Beauty’s initial launch will focus on soft, fall colors. This makes sense, as this color combination perfectly fits this year’s beauty trend.
Fenty Beauty is doing an excellent job at keeping product information hidden from the public. However, they also pay attention to detail. Rihanna is known to go above and beyond in both her music and her style. We doubt that this beauty launch will be an exception.
Earlier this summer, Bold PR, the company’s official public relations agent, announced that the brand was partnering with James Vincent (@jvincentmakeup), acclaimed makeup artist and beauty editor for Galore Magazine and On Makeup Magazine. The brand hosted an open call audition to search for a global makeup artist. This marketing tactic is far from uncommon. Many cosmetic lines are beginning to incorporate brand ambassadors to serve as a liaison between the brand and the average consumer. However, Fenty Beauty is definitely ahead of the curve by incorporating this early on in the company’s launch.
Unfortunately, there haven’t been any further announcements regarding the outcome of the open calls, or even the extent of the initial beauty launch. Regardless, Rihanna never ceases to surprise us, we only have a few short weeks until the brand officially launches.
