Author Conversations with Sherry Burton Ways #KontrolReads

Feel Good Spaces was written with the stressed and depressed person in mind, who yearns for an environment that escapes them from their daily routine. That place, be it home or office, is visually beautiful, but more importantly it rejuvenates the body, mind, and spirit to awaken positive energy. “Everybody’s Feel Good Space will be different, but they will all have that ‘home’ feeling, and a feeling of warmth and acceptance for the person who inhabits it. It will provide a relaxing moment in time that takes the person back to themselves, elevates their mood, and empowers them for the rest of their life,” says Burton Ways. Burton Ways credits Iyanla Vanzant, Dr. Wayne. Dyer, Marianne Williamson, and Sanaya Roman for inspiring her to create spaces that comes from a deeper place. Burton Ways presents design concepts from which the reader can personally explore colors, fabrics, scents, and tastes that will appeal to their feelings.

Get to Know Sherry:

1.       Tell us what this book is about?

The book Feel Good Spaces explains how environments are an extension of the soul and provides vibrant photos, client case studies, and do-it-yourself exercises to help readers create their own feel-good environments—at home or office. Feel Good Spaces was written with the stressed and depressed person in mind, who yearns for an environment that escapes them from their daily routine. That place–be it home or office–is visually beautiful, but more importantly it rejuvenates the body, mind, and spirit to awaken positive energy. Everybody’s Feel Good Space will be different, but they will all have that “home” feeling, and a feeling of warmth and acceptance for the person who inhabits it.   I present decorating concepts from which the reader can personally explore colors, fabrics, scents, and tastes that will appeal to their feelings.  It is truly amazing that the book was published in September and in October  AMAZON Kindle Version was #1 in top 100 Interior Decorating Category, #1 Design and Construction and #5 AMAZON Paperback best Seller in Design and Construction

2.       Why did you choose to write this book?

I was inspired by a former client who I worked with who was about to retire.  She kept stating that she wanted her space to “feel good”.  In addition, in the many workshops and lectures I have given, I get so many questions about creating peaceful spaces. So, I  wrote this book to provide to the world my eight years of experience creating homes that are nurturing and peaceful for my clients.

3.       Tell us why your writing is unique?

I write from my own experience as well as experiences of others including my clients.    I present decorating concepts from which the reader can personally explore colors, fabrics, scents, and tastes that will appeal to their feelings. I don’t write from strictly my point of view without consideration of the reader. But don’t get me wrong…..I encourage writing from a personal point-of-view. However, when you are expecting public response…..then you have to write with the audience in mind.

4.       What can we look forward from you?

I plan to write several more books, create a national women’s e-course through Daily OM called Creating Feel Good Spaces for Women to be launched in April 2013, land expanding my Certified Interior Environment Coaching practice.
