It looks as though the old saying is true; the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. The late legendary rapper Notorious B.I.G has a son that wants to follow in his footsteps. Twenty year old Christopher Wallace Jr. is said to be working on a rap album that will drop later this year.
Christopher Wallace Jr., who is better known as CJ, was barely one years old when his father was tragically murdered. Despite missing his father, CJ explains to Standard how he has always had the music bug.
“At a young age I always knew I wanted t do music, it was inevitable. My family have always had my back, whatever I’ve wanted to do they’ve supported. They were always giving me advice on what to do and how to go about things.”
Like Father Like Son
CJ is now ready to show the world that he too has a place in the rap game. He has teamed up with his half brother Jahad, and they have been working on their debut project for the past several months. CJ explains how being compared to his father won’t create any pressure but instead motivate him.
“Ends up being fuel for me, that’s my advantage.”
So far, there has been no official release date set for the debut album.
Christopher’s mother is the legendary R & B singer Faith Evans. Earlier this month Faith released a new album that pays tribute to her late husband. The album is called “The King and I’, and it was released last week. The album features new vocals from Faith alongside never before heard rhymes of Biggie.
Also in Notorious B.I.G. news, the A & E network recently announced a new documentary series featuring Biggie and Tupac Shakur. The documentary on Biggie is entitled “Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.”, and it will air on Wednesday, June 28th. The final hour of the documentary will air on Thursday, June 29h.
