Bruno Mars is back and ready to give us some more funk with the scheduled release of his latest single, “24K Magic“ which will drop this Friday. It will be the first new offering from Bruno since the release of the hit single, “Uptown Funk” in 2014.
The singer went to Instagram to share the news about the release of the single.
Bruno also let the fans know that his album is done.
It’s been about four years since the last release of Bruno Mars‘ last album, 2012’s Grammy-winning Unorthodox Jukebox. Barring the 2014 release of the massively popular Mark Ronson collaboration “Uptown Funk,” and two stellar Super Bowl performances.
The hit song for Bruno was a headliner in 2014 and allowed him to perform beside Beyonce and Coldplay in 2016. The singer’s lengthy absence from music has been felt widely by all of his fans. According to his bassist, Jamareo Artis, a new full-length LP is set to drop later this year, and a tour will follow shortly after.
“We’ve been working on it for about a year, trying different ideas and experimenting,” Artis said in an interview with Bass Player. “I don’t know what’s going to be included in the final version, but it’s going to have a new sound, and so far the material is very groove-oriented. It’ll be out sometime this year, and then we’ll hit the road again.”
Skrillex also confirmed that he was working with Bruno Mars back in June. “I’m not going to give specifics of what it sounds like, but what we’re doing is so f—king different, awesome and next level and sounds like nothing else that’s happened before,” he said at the time.
There’s still no word as to when the album will drop yet we are definitely excited to hear the new sound from Bruno Mars this coming Friday.
“24K Magic” is sure to be another golden hit, just as others recorded before it.
