On yesterday, Kontrol Magazine/Curves In The Streets was on the scene for the Pink Pop Up Parties hosted by Wanda Smith of V103 Atlanta. Wanda Smith teamed up with Grady Hospital in an effort to encourage regular breast examinations. The evening event was held at the Jon’Ric Salon & Wellness Spa in downtown Atlanta. The event space was beautifully decorated in pink in support of breast cancer awareness.
Guests were greeted upon arrival by the friendly and bubbly Jon’Ric staff. The event included complimentary swag bags, food and beverages, live DJ and entertainment. Funny woman, Wanda Smith mingled with guests through out the evening and encouraged all the ladies to visit Grady Health System’s Avon Foundation table, which handed out helpful information on breast cancer and how to conduct self examinations. She also encouraged women over the age of 40 to get their annual mammograms.
V103’s DJ Bubby Love had the guests grooving to the smooth mix of sounds. The guest were also entertained by a song selection from pop artist Kris Kelli and a heart warming tribute song from R&B singer Ray Lavender. The ladies definitely enjoyed the live entertainment from both talents.
Guests also enjoyed complimentary pink cupcakes from Klassy Kakes, owned by Monica Kinard. Those cupcakes were so good and tasty!!
Overall this was a very nice and well put together event for women. Wanda Smith and Grady Health System will be hosting Pink Pop Up Parties throughout the rest of the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness. The next Pink Pop Up Party will be held on Wednesday October 26 at the Tags Boutique Brookwood Square, 2140 Peachtree Road NW, Suite 225 from 6pm-8pm.
