J. Lo To Host New Dance Competition Show

Tyra Banks has been announced as the replacement of Nick Cannon as the host of ‘America’s Got Talent,’ but she is not the only one with exciting talent show news. Jennifer Lopez teased fans with a peek of her upcoming dance competition show, World of Dance on her social media platforms.

J. Lo is an executive producer of the show that was greenlit back in July of last year, and will serve as a judge. She will be joined by two heavy hitters on the judging panel, superstar Ne-Yo and Derek Hough from Dancing With The Stars. Jenna Dewan Tatum will serve as host/mentor on the show. The premiere season will consist of 10-episodes and will require contestants to display their skills in an array of dance styles, and the winner will receive $1 million.

Competitors will be divided into three divisions: Junior (any size act, 17 years old and under), Upper (groups of 1-4, 18 and older), Team (groups of 5+, 18 and older). The judging criteria includes: performance, technique, choreography, creativity, and presentation.

Lopez may have a hit on her hands; people love reality competition shows. She has what it takes to make the show a success due to her background as a professional dancer, seasoned performer, and former host of American Idol.
