Jennifer Lopez to Play a Dirty Cop Turned FBI Informant in Upcoming NBC Drama Series

 Jennifer Jennifer Lopez

When one door closes, another will surely open and that’s the mantra Jennifer Lopez is taking her strides by. While American Idol will soon be coming to  a close at the end of next year, J. Lo already has another gig lined up.

The 46-year-old triple threat and mommy, will star in a brand new NBC network crime drama series entitled Shades of Blue, which is set to premiere on January 7th at 10 p.m.

In the series, Jennifer Lopez will play the lead role of Harlee Santos, a New York detective and single mother (who’s daughter will be played by Disney Descendants star Sarah Jeffery). When she gets caught up in an anti-corruption probe, she’s forced to spy on her coworkers, thus creating conflict with her boss (who will be played by legendary actor Ray Liotta), who believes there is a rat on his team. This series sounds like it will be full of action and suspense and that is definitely my kind of show! Who’s going to be watching it with me at the top of next year? Beyond the words, lies a young woman… A young woman filled with drive, determination, pride, passion, and an insatiable hunger for more. A young woman who is a self-proclaimed artist, but not in the sense that she can paint a mural. She’s a verbal artist who paints pictures with words. Her beauty is more than skin deep, it lies within the lines of her words. And she’s making a name for herself as your new favorite writer.
