Yes! JT is back!
Justin Timberlake’s latest song “Can’t Stop the Feeling” has hit number one on the adult Pop charts in just it’s fifth week – the song ties for the fastest flight to No. 1, and marks the speediest rise to the top by a male artist in the tally’s 20-year history.
According to Billboard.com, dating back to the premiere of Adult Pop Songs of Billboard magazine in March 1996, “Can’t Stop the Feeling” equals the five-week ascent to No. 1 that Adele made with “Hello” in November. “Hello” and “Can’t Stop the Feeling” each outpaced the six-week sprints to the summit by Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” (2014) and Celine Dion’s “Because You Loved Me” (1996).
Among males, “Can’t Stop the Feeling” bests Pharrell Williams’ eight-week trip to the top with “Happy,” which hit No. 1 on April 5, 2014, for the quickest climb to the top spot by a solo male.
Timberlake earns his third No. 1 on Adult Pop Songs, following “Mirrors” and “Not a Bad Thing,” which led for a week each in 2013 and 2014, respectively. (As a member of *NSYNC, Timberlake charted as high as No. 19 with the group on Adult Pop Songs with “Bye Bye Bye” in 2000.)
Congrats Justin! I am so glad that he’s back and making music! Justin Timberlake is easily one of the greatest artist of our time!
