Kendrick Lamar is at it again! And this time he is taking legendary rap crew N.W.A with him. Lamar is confirmed to induct the West Coast crew into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 8th 2016 which is also airing on HBO on April 30th. This ceremony will be conducted at the Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in New York City. Kid Rock will also be present to welcome Cheap Trick into the Rock Hall. Other artists, inductees this year include: Chicago, Deep Purple and Steve Miller, Black Keys, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich and Matchbox Twenty’s Rob Thomas.
Lamar, who is just fresh off conquering the Grammy rap categories for his sophomore studio To Pimp a Butterfly also won the best rap album trophy at the 58th annual awards show, which was ironically presented to him by Ice Cube. Lamar, who is also a protégé of Dr. Dre’s, spoke out about how the Hip Hop group has influence his upbringing in Compton and has interpreted their music to be his reality. He even mentions how the overall group’s dynamic has influenced our new music. “I think everyone now at this point, no matter how you feel about us, understands what the group actually did and what it meant to modern music.”
