Mali Hunter and the Retnuh Agency family held a pre album listening party for Eardrummer Records own Rae Sremmurd and Mike Will Made It at Tree Sound Studios as they’re set to release their ‘Sremmlife 2’ album, next Friday, August 12. The studio was packed with media, eager fans, great music from a live DJ and great food and drinks sponsored by Courvoisier and Cholula Hot Sauce!
To start the night off right, guest, including myself, were allowed to take a tour around Tree Sound Studios, the place were Rae Sremmurd created their latest album. We were then escorted to “the cave” where technicolor lights were flashing and specialty Courvoisier drinks were flowing as we anticipated the group’s arrival. DJ Tookie set the atmosphere playing hits from Rae Sremmurd debut album ‘Sremmlife’ such as “No Flex Zone“, “No Type“, “Come Get Her” and “Throw Sum Mo” featuring Nicki Minaj and Young Thug.
Shortly after, attendees were fed a feast prepared by Chef Mali and her team which included a variety of food from Mac and Cheese, Fried Chicken, Collard Greens, Chicken Alfredo, Spaghetti, Super Food Salad, and more. Upon arrival, Rae Sremmurd mingled with fans and media personnel during the dinner. Slim Jxmmi and I even talk about our obsession with Pokémon Go. I checked his Pokédex and he’s a savage out here when it comes to catching them all.
Afterwards, a select few were able to get a close and personal sneak peek of Sremmlife 2, while in the studio toasting Courvoisier with Rae Sremmurd and friends.
After the small studio jam session, Rae Sremmurd and their entourage came out to the cave and performed every song on their up and coming album and let’s just say: IT WAS LIT!!! With bottles poppin’, D Jay Sremm on the 1s and 2s, smoke clouds fogging the air, and Rae Sremmurd and crew wildin out on stage, the audience had no choice but to follow suit and get hype. Even legendary, Ed Lover, made an appearance on stage to show love.
On the album, Rae Sremmurd features artist Gucci Mane for a track titled, “Black Beatles”, Juicy J on “Shake It Fast,” Lil Jon on “Set The Roof,” and Kodak Black on “Real Chill”. My personal favorites of the night would have to be , “Shake It Fast,” “Real Chill” and their hit single “By Chance”.
Before the night closed, Mike Will Made It, presented some of his Day Ones with plaques, representing 5 million singles sold from their label, Ear Drummer Records.
Make sure to purchase Rae Sremmurd ‘Sremmlife 2’ on August 12 as it will be available on all music purchasing platforms.
