The evolution of Jaden Smith is one that has been closely documented. Mostly in the form of paparazzi shots and editorials. Nonetheless, the son of two of Hollywood’s biggest stars has a style that is virtually unmatched.
Today we know the 19-year-old actor/rapper as a breaker of rules, an out-of-the-box thinker, and an absolute trendsetter. He’s rocked everything from skirts to oversized clothing. More recently he’s gone through a complete style change. After having dreadlocks for the last couple of years he cut them all off and traded the locks for short blonde hair. He’s also wearing a lot of denim and fitted clothing. It’s a step up from where his style was when he had the locks.
Dreadlock Jaden had a very casual streetwear look. He was almost always seen in hoodies and sweatshirts. A lot of the time he would have a long t-shirt with the bottom poking out of the hoodie, just hanging out. His pants were usually jeans with a design or some type of casual pants, like track or sweatpants. Jaden also liked oversized coats and jackets, with the overall color scheme of his looks on the darker side.
However, dreadlocks wasn’t a slouch. Like his daddy, he knows what to do when it’s time to dress up and show out. For very special occasions Jaden busts out the custom-made suits, and long coats with unique designs and prints. Though he’s the furthest thing from a label whore, he has them in his arsenal in abundance.
Now that the locks are gone, Jaden is wearing more fitted clothing. Oddly enough, he’s doing a lot of denim these days. Full denim outfits with matching pants and jackets, or sometimes just a denim jacket. He’s also married to his Supreme bag. Jaden carries that little thing to a lot of red carpet events and even award shows.
Though, he’s definitely one of the front-runners right now in style; and this is just the beginning. Jaden is so unpredictable who knows what wavelength he’ll be on next month. What we do know, is that whatever he’s doing, he’ll be leading the pack. That’s just the way it is when you’re Jaden Smith.
