Hello Kurvy Kuties!!!
Today we are taking a closer look inside singer-songwriter, Beth Ditto’s spring/summer 2016 collection. Although her much anticipated collection was released earlier this year. I have noticed that a few of her pieces are gaining some press attention.
I checked out the collection for myself online, I must say, some of her pieces caught my eye. While glancing through the online look book, the collection appeared to be fun, vibrant, and eclectic for the plus size consumer. In her heart-felt collection description, Beth Ditto talked about her previous experiences of being dressed for red carpet events: ”A tablecloth made into a dress at a Rolling Stone performance, a Westwood dress worn upside down, stylists bringing nothing but sheets to drape me in, designers sending oversize pieces meant for thin people with armholes sized for a zero.”
We see the same scenario so many times with various plus size celebs and how they are often “draped in sheets” for red carpets. I was happy to see Beth step outside of the box and deliver garments of top quality including beautiful textures and custom prints.
“I wanted to make pieces to last years. Beyond trends, beyond chain stores. I wanted to create something all its own, something just for us, made with love and consideration. Made ethically in the USA as a small company with no corporate input. Uncompromising, unapologetic, humane, and timeless. Go-to pieces designed to last.”
My favorite piece from her collection is the Lola Dress, the fit of the dress looks amazing!
Other celebs have been sporting Beth’s pieces. Comedian and actress Sherri Shepherd, recently did a interview on the Wendy Williams Show. Sherri was showing off her new figure and rocking the Lola Skirt from Beth Ditto’s collection.
Comedian and actress Melissa McCarthy, was recently featured in Guardian Weekend Magazine sporting The Modern Love Jumpsuit from Beth Ditto Collection. Melissa’s look is styled by fashion stylist ANNASU featuring: Alexander McQueen shoes, Victor Costa vintage cape and Gaspar gloves.
Overall, I’m a fan of the collection and it is refreshing to see nice quality pieces on these Kurvy Kuties. Feel free to take a look at the Beth Ditto Collection here and let us know what you think?
Until next time, “Continue to rock your confidence, it looks good on you!!”
