Miami Fashion Week
Things have been heating up this week on the runway in Miami’s Fashion Week. Miami is one of many destinations for Fashion Week alongside Paris, London, and Milan. Miami kicked off fashion week on Wednesday, May 31st and it will end on Sunday, June 4th. The theme this year is resortwear and the cruise capital of the world will be showcasing the Resort 2018 collections of eight designers.
According to Miami.com, the CEO of MIAFW Julio Iranzo believes that “there was no better city in the world for it and therefore resortwear was the best collection to show.” The designers this year have been setting trends on the runway and this year we can expect nothing less than bright colors, prints and metallic.
According to Miami.com, Designer Rene Ruiz said: “Guests in attendance can expect glamorous and sultry evening gowns in a color palette including metallic, platinum, cornflower blue, and white.” Rene Ruiz is one of eight international designers that will be showcasing their collection at Miami Fashion Week. The designer said that he gains inspiration from the city and culture of Miami. Ruiz then channels that inspirations into one-of-a-kind custom couture, ready-to-wear, bridal and men’s collections. He is also known for creating his own fabric, which according to miamifashionweek.com inspires the sensuality for the modern woman.
The other designers showcasing their collections this year in MIAFW include Agatha Ruiz De La Prada, Angel Sanchez, Fisico, Custo, Shantall Lacayo, Silvia Tcherassi and Yirko.
Among the lineup of international designers is actor Antonio Banderas. Antonio Banderas is the Honorary President of Miami Fashion Week. More details to come at the end of MIAFW. Stay tuned!
