That’s right! Our very stylish FLOTUS will be hosting a fashion education workshop on October 8, as WWD reports. The workshop will be in D.C., at the White House, of course, and will be for high school and university students in the area. A variety of the leading industry professionals and designers will also be in attendance.
As we’ve come to find out, Michelle Obama is a fan of the of-the-moment American designers, it’d only be right that the attending panelists be those it designers. Prabal Gurung, Reed Krakoff, Maria Cornejo, executives from Jimmy Choo and Naeem Khan and more will be on the panel. There will also be a post-workshop Celebration of Design reception that will have an even more impressive guess list. Expected attendees will be Diane von Furstenburg, Thom Browne, Thakoon Panichgul, and Jason Wu.
This is definitely an event that anyone would want to attend! It’s an amazing opportunity for students to connect with and learn directly from various fashion professionals that will be sharing with them how to succeed in the industry and how important sticking to their education is. We love that Michelle Obama is bringing forth an initiative like this! & as a woman of impeccable style and grace, who else would you want to host a fashion event like this?!
How do you all feel about our FLOTUS’s upcoming event? Who else would you hope was there? Leave us a comment and let us know.
