Tom Ford S/S 18

On Wednesday (Sept 6), Tom Ford unveiled his 2018 Spring/Summer Women’s collection for New York Fashion Week.  His runway show was the premiere event to kick off the fashion festivities.

Walking down the runway were models in swimsuits with leather pants. There were also sexy jumpsuits draped with blazers, women’s suits tailored with broad shoulders similar to men’s, fun jackets, tunics with no pants, and super sexy dresses. While black and were the primary colors, he made sure to add statement pieces in orange and blue, along with yellow, pink, and champagne brown/golden pieces.

Ford claims that the sexy collection was inspired by his time in Los Angeles. He noticed that a lot of the people wore fitness gear during the daytime before dressing sexy chic for the evening. A lot of the pieces he sent down the runway had broad shoulders and he utilized sequin by placing it on the sleeves of his gowns.

Model Binx Walton opened and closed the show. Other models included Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, and Joan Smalls. Many people claim that they did not recognize Jenner and Smalls as the walked down the runway in similar black gowns, sporting the broad shoulder pad theme of the show. That’s the work of the fashion, hair, and makeup Gods ar their best.

However, the after party seemed more glamorous than the actual show. Kim Kardashian West, Ciara, Russell Westbrook, Ansel Elgort, and Cindy Crawford all attended the party; along with a host of other actors and celebrities. Kim made a splash with her icy blonde hair and latex dress, only hours after announcing that she and husband Kanye are expecting their third child via surrogate.
