For those who don’t know, PETA stands for People of the Ethical Treatment of Animals and it is a U.S. based non-profit organization. Since its debut in 1980, PETA has been endorsed by numerous celebrities including soap star Kristoff St. John, singer Pink, reality star Khloe Kardashian and many more. The latest celeb to bare all for PETA’s latest campaign is none other than actress Pamela Anderson.
The 47-year-old actress appears naked in their latest campaign which is inspired by the 1960 horror film ‘Psycho’ – to draw attention to the amount of water wasted in the production of meat. The images show the infamous blonde bombshell beauty cowering in the shower, recreating the scene where Normal Bates stabs Marion Crane in the Alfred Hithcock-directed picture.
The advert which features the tagline, “Make a splash for the environment – try vegan”, aims to encourage people to banish meat from their diet as the industry is the number one cause of water depletion across the globe. Long-time vegan Pamela Anderson explained: “Rivers are siphoned off, not just for the animals but also for crops grown to feed animals on factory farms.
“Producing one pound of beef uses as much water as about six months of showers.”
The spoof images were shot by renowned photographer David LaChapelle.
Would you strip down for the cause?
