What can I say, reading IS fundamental.
British singer Alesha Dixon has snagged a deal with infamous publishing house Scholastic to write two books that revolve around a young superheroine named Aurora Beam. In an interview with the BBC, Alesha revealed that she wanted to create a character whom children could hopefully be inspired by and look up to.
The first book in the Aurora Beam series is slated to be released at the latter part of this year. And that’s not all Alesha Dixon is looking to accomplish — the ‘Lipstick’ singer also revealed that she wants to branch out to the acting realm and she has already begun taking up acting lessons with a coach.
“I love the idea of being in an action movie, something like Margot Robbie in ‘Suicide Squad’… I also love the idea of being in a musical and also dramas, TV dramas, gritty dramas. I am actually really open-minded really.” she beamed.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge may seem like she’s got a lot on her plate but she’s willing to become a Jill of All Trades. Outside of being a songstress, talent show judge and aspiring author, Alesha is a proud mommy to her three-year old daughter Azura Ononye. When asked if she had plans to have another baby this year, the singer said, “No, definitely not. There aren’t enough days in the week for a baby. I’m struggling with my schedule as it is… The older I get, the more life feels faster than ever, so it’s a challenge to slow things down and smell the roses. But I’m very, very happy.”
I can’t wait to see what the Aurora Beam series is all about. I’ll definitely be keeping you guys posted. Let’s all give it up for the ladies!
