Well, it appears that we haven’t seen the last of the Harris clan. Despite T.I. and Tiny going through a public divorce, their reality show has been renewed for another season. Could this mean that the two are trying to reconcile? Or could it simply mean the producers saw a story line that they couldn’t pass up?
According to the Jasmine Brand, the producers of the show had already made up their minds about giving the “Family Hustle” the boot. Once reports started circulating about T.I. and Tiny’s marriage being on the brink of destruction, the show’s producers suddenly had a change of heart. Apparently, the show’s producers see the couple’s marriage problems as dollar signs and higher ratings.
According to reports, the show will take on a different spin this season. Instead of focusing on the family adventures and being the modern day “Cosby Show”, this season will focus primarily on the couple’s marriage issues. So expect this season to be less wholesome and more messy!
What’s Really Going On?
“Sources close to “T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle” tell us VH1 is bringing the series back for a sixth season that will focus on the estranged couple’s efforts to co-parent in the aftermath of Tiny filing for divorce.
We’re told the network met with producers about canceling the show, even though Tip and Tiny wanted to keep cameras rolling. Producers convinced VH1 execs the relationship drama could bring in a huge audience, and boom — the show was saved.
While they shot most of season 5 separately, our sources say they’ll be together more often next season. We’re told things are still strained for sure, but Tiny’s in no rush to finalize a divorce.
Tip said as much Tuesday when he slipped about where he was on Feb. 14.”
So, what are your thoughts? Do you think T.I. and Tiny’s marriage issues will bring in higher ratings for the show? Let me know in the comments.
