Nina Holiday Entertainment has produced one of the most highest rated shows on the GMC Network as well as one of the highest rated movies ever in TVOne history and was nominated for a 2013 NAACP Image Award, which are just a couple of the accolades Nina Holiday Entertainment is responsible for.
Founded in 2005 by actress/producer Terri J. Vaughn and writer/producer Cas Sigers-Beedles as well as with the creative and financial guidance of producer Rikki Hughes. Given the name Nina Holiday from each of the industry patrons favorite legendary singer/songwriters Nina Simone and Billie Holiday, the entertainment company merely started as just an idea between the actress and writer which eventually led into the full-service production company subsidiary servicing the motion picture, broadcast network, advertising and corporate communications industries located in Atlanta, Georgia.
“Nina Holiday came about after I met Cas 11 or 12 years ago working on an independent movie project here in Atlanta. Says Terri, Cas was the wardrobe coordinator on set and she also had just written her first novel. She gave me a copy of it and I read it on the way back to LA and I loved it so much that I wanted to turn it into a TV series. So I called Cas and was like ooh your novel is hot, its sexy, its everything we should turn it into a TV series, and so we got started trying to make that happen and that’s how it all got started.”
Contributing their own form of creativity to their successful entertainment company is all too easy for the ladies to explain. With different strong personalities in charge, each of the ladies still have yet an equal balance when it comes to how they contribute to the company.
“Creativity and chaos is my biggest contribution lol, that’s what I bring to the table,” says Cas.
Rikki on the other hand has a more structured view and responsibility towards the company. “I’m structure, I always have questions about everything, the ones they want to answer as well as the ones they don’t. I give structure as far as business and finances you know that kind of thing and creative too, but that’s really my lane.”
“That’s the beautiful thing everybody is creative on the team.” says, Terri, “Cas is more wacky chaotic creative, while Rikki is more structure financial creative, and I’m just everything lol.”
Being three beautiful strong women in charge taking over the production world still doesn’t take away from their personal lives. With family and households to run the Women behind Nina Holiday Entertainment explains life balancing career and family.
“Its non-stop,” says Terri J Vaughn. “Our lives are non-stop, even when were sleeping to when we get up it’s non-stop.”
“Everything from 3am texts lol,” says Rikki.
