TV One will continue to build on the success of its original films after “Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story” and “Bad Dad Rehab,” became hits. The network is gearing up to release its latest original film, “Ringside.”
The film stars Tyler LePley (“Tyler Perry’s The Have and Have Nots”) an undefeated boxer Jaxon Holley. The movie will explore the personal battles he endures outside of the ring as he prepares for the biggest fight of his career against trash-talking champ Spencer “Timber” Collier played by Allen Maldonado (“Straight Outta Compton,” “Black-ish”) who is doing everything he can to dethrone the champ. The movie is written, produced, and directed by Russ Parr (“35 and Ticking,” “Undershepherd,” and “Hear No Evil”).
Preparing for the fight of his career is not the only battle Jaxon has to do deal with. He has to confront family drama, management issues, and a new love interest. Jackie Long, singer/songwriter Sevyn Streeter, Julissa Bermudez, and Charlamagne Tha God are also part of Ringside’s cast. Ringside premieres on TV One on Sunday, Sept. 4th at 7 p.m.
Later this year, the network has plans to release at least two more new original movies “The Devil Is A Lie” and “Praise Dance.”
