What’s in My Beach Beauty Bag?

Swimsuit season is here, which means that it’s time to start planning those trips to the beach!

However, with warm weather comes sweat and with sweat comes…a lot. So how do you combat the heat that comes with the beach and pool party season? What’s in your Beach Beauty Bag? Here’s what’s in mine…

My Beach Beauty Bag

First thing’s first: suncreen. I don’t care how much melanin you have, Black people get skin cancer too. Sunscreen should always be SPF 15 or higher.

Sunscreen

Sidnote: If you are someone who doesn’t sweat much and/or wears foundation in hot weather, I would suggest wearing foundation with sunscreen in it or using a BB or CC cream.

Next, you’ll find either mascara or a pair of lash strips (which means you’ll also find lash glue and tweezers). I don’t spend too much time on my eyes during the summer because I typically have on my sunglasses whenever I’m outside. However, my eyes are pretty nonexistent without lashes or eyeliner and I don’t like to wear eyeliner when it’s hot. I don’t want to have to worry about it smudging and looking like a raccoon. Mascara can smudge as well, but I don’t have that problem unless I apply it to my bottom lashes, which I hardly ever do.

Lash Strips

And finally, you’ll find lipgloss. This is a new addition to my Beach Beauty Bag. I always preferred lipstick over lipgloss because I felt that lipgloss was childish lol. But as I saw more and more women choosing lipgloss over lipstick, I decided see what the hype was about. Lipgloss is fun and it definitely makes your lips pop, no matter what the ensemble. Lipstick is still my choice for a night out, but lipgloss is my new go-to for all things summer and fun.

Lipgloss

That’s it?…

Sure is. I try and keep it as simple as possible when I’m going the beach because I feel like summer is the best time to let your natural features prosper. Everyone naturally glows in the summer, so less work is needed to bring out that glow. Keep that beach beauty bag simple and you’ll be able for focus more on enjoying the sun.
