He asks if she is having sex with him, as they arrangement dictates they stay sex buddies until either of them starts sleeping with someone else. She assures him she and Sheldon are not sleeping together yet and then gets him a hot towel to wipe off with. Later, MJ interviews a man who is growing urban gardens throughout Los Angeles. Kara admonishes her for not going deeper with the interview. Elsewhere, PJ speaks to his investor and informs her David is not a viable candidate for future investing. She gives him another option by helping her rig property building around a new dome being built for a team in Los Angeles. PJ knows it is illegal, but decides to think on it.
MJ goes shopping and there runs into a shop girl who Sheldon use to sleep with. She tells MJ that sex with him was great and that he does not ejaculate. She also finds it surprising MJ and Sheldon are dating, since he normally goes for younger women. Lisa and Valerie go to lunch, there the the former confides she wants to tell MJ the truth about what is going on with her. Valerie advises her against it, telling her she is not ready and that the fallout is too great. Things come to a head between Kara and MJ, with the former deciding it is best they go their separate ways. MJ tries to make amends, but Kara feels as though she needs something new. They promise to remain friends. At dinner, MJ confronts Sheldon about the shop girl. He reveals in the past he preferred younger women because they were more flexible for his career, but now he wants something more. She does not believe him.
The next day Sheldon tries to call her but she ignores his call. Kara informs her she suggested to the network they allow her to sub for a primetime anchor. The network agrees and MJ preps for the show by trying out various looks and researching her guest. She seems to be do well until she ambushes the guest in the interview by insinuating she uses her book to promote pro-Bush policies in favor “No Child Left Behind.” The woman accuses her of being a race baiter and stereotypical Black female victim. MJ assures her she does not see the world through a skewed lens and that as a woman they suffer from some of the same issues and says that she too is an “Ugly Black Woman.”
Kara and MJ avoid social media and phone calls, hoping the network will not fire her for the interview going so far South. Paul informs PJ of an opportunity he has arranged for him, but he turns it down feeling it is not right for him. At home MJ tells Kara she is worried about being fired. The latter tells her no matter what happens they will face it together. Brandon arrives for another sex session as an apologetic Sheldon waits for her on the phone. She ends their casual relationship, realizing she was just as wrong as Sheldon.
