Rihanna has been talking to Fader Magazine, NME, MTV, and most recently Time Magazine about her life and where is she now. However, there’s been talks of Rihanna’s new album for several months now, that has yet to release. The “Bitch Better Have My Money” singer revealed to Instagram that her album will no longer be titled R8, instead she decided to illustrate her values and who she is. The cover art for the highly anticipated project, Anti, illustrates an oil painting of a younger Riri holding a balloon with a crown over her eyes.
The back features a poems in braille by Chloe Mitchell, according to Madame Noire it reads: “What I choose to say is of so much substance/That people just won’t understand the depth of my message/So my voice is not my weakness/It is the opposite of what others are afraid of/My voice is my suit. This seems like this will be one of the most personal albums she’s made.
The songtress told MTV she wanted a timeless album something that felt like her. She revealed, I’ve made a lot of songs that are just really really big songs from the jump. they just blow up, and I just wanted to focus on things that felt real, that felt soulful, that felt forever. I want an album I could perform in 15 years. She continues, I find that when I get on the stage I don’t want to perform a lot of my songs, because they don’t feel like me.”
In an interview with NME Magazine, Rihanna also said, “I have so many songs I love—and they’re so different—that it’s hard to actually put them all on the same album.” There has been talks in the past of her collaborating with reggae artist and rapper/producer Kanye West. We are not sure if fan feedback, a change in creative direction, or schedule conflicts is holding up Anti, but Rihanna has not release an official drop date.
All we know is that it’s coming soon, so we’ll just have to wait on it.
