Throwback Thursday: Madonna to Rihanna

When I was growing up, Madonna was a style staple in addition to being a major pop superstar. Madonna was known for her risky style of dress and controversial song lyrics and videos. With hits like “Like a Virgin” and “Poppa Don’t Preach” she soared her way to super stardom. Although the world would love to compare Lady Gaga and Brittney Spears to the Pop queen, Rihanna has surely made her way to the top 20 on Bill Board for Pop artist making her next to Madonna with her number of hit songs. From their style of trashy sexy to intricate elegant these two bombshells have set the bar for clones around the world.

Madonna Louise Ciccone is a singer-songwriter, actress, author, director, entrepreneur and philanthropist. She was born in Bay City, Michigan. The Pop artist moved to New York City to pursue a career in modern dance and performed in the music groups Breakfast Club and Emmy. Sire Records  signed Madonna in 1982 and she released her self-titled debut album the following year.
